Director J.R. Sullivan and dramaturg Kate Farrington will moderate a conversation about The Pearl Theatre Company's stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' Hard Times at the Drama Bookshop on February 17 at 7pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Members of the Pearl's Resident Acting Company will discuss not only the play with Sullivan and Farrington, but also the production, which uses just six actors to bring Dickens' classic to life.

Hard Times explores the tumultuous lives of the inhabitants of a fictionalized industrial city called Coketown. The cast will feature Jolly Abraham (Sissy Jupe, Mrs. Pegler, Mary Stokes), Rachel Botchan (Louisa, Emma, Mrs. Blackpool), Robin Leslie Brown (Mrs. Sparsit, Mrs. Gradgrind, Rachel), Bradford Cover (Mr. Bounderby, Bitzer, Harthouse), TJ Edwards (Gradgrind, Blackpool), and Sean McNall (Tom, Mr. Sleary). Sullivan has directed the piece, which runs through March 28 at New York City Center - Stage II.
