Tony nominee Jonathan Hogan will star as Otto Frank opposite Sara Kapner as Anne Frank in the New York premiere of Meyer Levin’s Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, a radio play to be presented at the Museum of Jewish Heritage on September 14.

Not heard since the eve of Rosh Hashanah in 1952 when it aired nationally on CBS Radio, Levin’s play was the first adaptation of the diary. The cast will also include Lori Wilner as Mrs. Frank, Jessica Dean as Margot, Stuart Zagnit as Mr. Van Daan, Cheryl Stern as Mrs. Van Daan, Macleod Andrews as Peter Van Daan, Mary Rasmussen as Miep Gees, and Andy Proskey as the Announcer/Koophius/Dussell.

Following the performance will be a panel discussion featuring authors Cynthia Ozick and Neil Baldwin, and producer Jennifer Strome, that will examine the play’s historical context and its controversial fall into obscurity.
