Jennifer Cody, Max Von Essen, and More Join the Cast of Tenderloin at the York Theatre Company

The 1960 musical completes the company’s Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of lyricist Sheldon Harnick.

Complete casting has been announced for Tenderloin, the final production to join the York Theatre Company's Winter 2014 Musicals in Mufti Series, celebrating the career of Broadway lyricist Sheldon Harnick.

Based on a novel by Samuel Hopkins Adams, Tenderloin features a book by George Abbott and Jerome Weidman, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. The story follows Dr. Brock, a crusading minister who has dedicated himself to cleaning up the vice-riddled section of New York called "Tenderloin."

The 14-member cast will feature Jennifer Cody (Taboo), Katie Rose Clarke (Wicked), Mark Jacoby (Elf), Jillian Louis (The Dinosaur Musical), Michael McCormick (Elf), Marcy McGuigan (The Divine Sister), Diane Phelan (Camelot), Wayne Pretlow (Jesus Christ Superstar), Jay Russell (End of the Rainbow), Tally Sessions (Giant), Kendal Sparks, Max Von Essen (Evita), Debra Walton (The Pajama Game), and Zakiya Young (Stick Fly). The limited-engagement will play five performances from March 7-9 at the York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's. Carl Andress directs with music direction by Christopher McGovern.
