Peter Strauss, Laila Robins, and Marin Ireland will appear alongside Debargo Sanyal and Danielle Skrasstad in a staged reading of Tricia Walsh-Smith’s The Last Journey at 7pm on Monday, January 22 at the Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, Connecticut. The presentation, which will feature a post-show talkback, will be directed by Carolyn Cantor.

The play concerns a man who is faced with the excruciating choice between honoring his dying wife’s final wish to keep her body alive or to cave into emotional blackmail inflicted by their daughter. Walsh-Smith’s other plays include Bonkers and Addicitons.

Strauss’ stage credits include Einstein and the Polar Bear, Chinese Friends, and Sabina (which co-starred Ireland). He won an Emmy Award for The Jericho Mile and was nominated for Rich Man, Poor Man and Masada. Robins’ Broadway credits include Heartbreak House, Frozen, and The Herbal Bed. Ireland has starred Off-Broadway in The Ruby Sunrise, Manuscript, and Far Away.

Tickets to the reading are $10 and are available by calling 203-227-4177 or 888-927-7529.
