Broadway Stars Celebrate Into the Woods DVD Release With Sondheim Tribute Concert

Lilla Crawford and Tituss Burgess were on hand to toast the master songwriter and his work.

To celebrate the March 24 DVD release of Rob Marshall's film version of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods, Broadway performers gathered at 42West on March 22 for a special concert tribute to the show and other stage-to-screen adaptations of Sondheim's musicals.

The film adaptation of Sondheim and Lapine's Tony-winning musical opened in theaters on Christmas Day, earning over $46 million from the time of its release through its opening weekend. Total box office earnings worldwide have since climbed to more than $172 million. It received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for Meryl Streep. A brand-new Sondheim song titled "She'll Be Back" will be featured in the Blu-ray Combo Pack release of the Into the Woods movie.
