Martin Platt and David Elliott (Perry Street Theatricals) have announced an April 11 workshop presentation of Georgie: My Adventures With George Rose. Directed by Eric Schaeffer, the show is written by and stars Ed Dixon (Shylock, Richard Cory).

Georgie: My Adventures With George Rose was originally produced in January at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia. It had a developmental production at Connecticut's Sharon Playhouse, and will premiere off-Broadway in the fall.

The one-man, one-act play chronicles Dixon's 20-year friendship with Tony-winning actor George Rose, who starred on Broadway and London stages alongside luminaries like Katharine Hepburn, Noël Coward, Dame Edith Evans, Richard Burton, and Laurence Olivier.

"It has been nothing but pure joy in working with Ed Dixon to bring this special story to life," says Schaeffer. "Not many artists would be able to shed layer after layer of emotion to expose the deep feelings of life and this extraordinary journey like Ed does on stage night after night. He is truly one our greatest character actors working today in the American theater and Georgie lets him use all of his hidden talents to bring this story to life in a unique and original way. The end result is an amazing night in the theater for anyone who loves life in and beyond the footlights."
