Casting has been announced for the newest edition of Forbidden Broadway entitled Forbidden Broadway: Alive and STILL Kicking, which returns to New York on February 22 at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre.

New cast members Erica Dorfler (The Book of Mormon) and Carter Calvert (It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues) join Scott Richard Foster and Marcus Stevens, who starred in last year's edition. As previously announced, the revamped production will satirize Broadway's recent additions, including Pippin, Kinky Boots, Matilda, and Motown, a few choice highlights from last year's edition, and new productions soon to take to the Great White Way.

"When we heard Les Miz was coming back for its third Broadway run, it was a wake-up call that it was time for us to resume," said Gerard Alessandrini. "So we're picking up where we left off last April. And now feels like the perfect time to be back in New York: right in between seasons. There's everything we didn't get the chance to spoof last year, and a new avalanche of shows waiting to crash down on us. We'll start with Pippin, Kinky Boots, Matilda, and Motown, and as the season unfolds, we'll add Rocky, Cabaret, Bridges of Madison County, Bullets Over Broadway, Aladdin, etc. Then we can officially open the new edition around Awards Season."

The production is created and written by Gerard Alessandrini, featuring direction by Phillip George and Alessandrini, musical direction by David Caldwell, and lighting design by Mark T. Simpson.
