Flashback Friday: Remembering Once Before Broadway, the Tonys, and How I Met Your Mother

The veteran musical leads the charge of Broadway productions taking their final bows this weekend.

Now that the ball has dropped and the confetti has been swept from the streets, the first order of business for Manhattan seems to be a mass exodus from the Great White Way. Come January 5, Cinderella, Pippin, The Real Thing, This Is Our Youth, and Side Show will all have cleared out of their respective theaters, making way for the next wave of potential Tony winners. However, as the Tony-winningest and most senior of the exiting productions, Once — which closes its doors (and its onstage bar) this Sunday after nearly three years at the Jacobs Theatre — has earned its place as this week's Flashback Friday. See if you remember this early commercial from its pre-Broadway, New York Theatre Workshop days (aka back when Cristin Milioti had no idea she was "The Mother").
