The cast also includes Marinda Anderson, Alana Raquel Bowers, and Biko Eisen-Martin.

Playwrights Horizons announced the cast for the New York premiere of Christina Anderson’s the ripple, the wave that carried me home. Directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene, the play runs October 21-November 29.
The play takes place in 1960s Kansas as a couple fights for the integration of public swimming pools, a fierce civil rights struggle that overshadows their daughter Janice’s childhood and drives a wedge between her and her family.
Thirty years later, as the Rodney King trial dominates the nation’s attention, Janice is asked to speak at a ceremony honoring her father, and forced to reckon with the scars of a past she has tried to forget. Structured to replicate the movements of both memory and water, this is the first of a series of Anderson’s plays that use the elements as a framework for considering Black American history.
The cast includes Marinda Anderson as Gayle, Alana Raquel Bowers as Janice, Biko Eisen-Martin as Edwin, and Crystal Lucas-Perry as Helen.
The creative team includes scenic designer Lawrence E. Moten III, costume designer Rodrigo Muñoz, lighting designer Lap Chi Chu, sound designer Chris Darbassie, and wig and hair designer Earon Chew Nealey.
