Once upon a time, Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) and Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams) were fighting over affections of local heartthrob Dawson Leery. Who would have thought that years later Holmes and Williams would both be big Broadway stars? Holmes most recently appeared in Theresa Rebeck’s Dead Accounts, and Williams has just been cast as Sally Bowles in Cabaret.
But if YouTube clips from Dawson’s Creek are any indication, Cabaret just may have gotten the wrong girl. In the video below, Katie Holmes/Joey Potter can be seen showing an affinity for Broadway and the ability to endear a whole panel of pageant judges with a shrug and a smirk. Williams appears to prefer rocker angst (though, to be fair, The Who does have a musical of its own).
