The Drama League's 31st Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, honoring Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award winner James Earl Jones, will be held this evening at the Pierre Hotel.

The black-tie gala is slated to include a musical tribute, performed by dozens of stars from both Hollywood and Broadway. The guest list will include his costars from the current Broadway revival of You Can't Take It With You, as well as Tyne Daly (It Shoulda Been You), Kelsey Grammer (Finding Neverland), Phylicia Rashad, and Alan Cumming (Cabaret), who will present the first-ever Arts Ally award to CBS’ The Good Wife for its support of the Broadway community. The annual event will help fund the Drama League's educational initiatives for promising young artists.

James Earl Jones currently stars as Martin Vanderhof (Grandpa) in the Broadway revival of You Can't Take It With You. His illustrious career includes Broadway productions of Fences (Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play), "Master Harold"…and the Boys, The Great White Hope (Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play), Othello, and Driving Miss Daisy, as well as the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, and many other plays and films.

"As he is proving eight times a week at the Longacre Theatre in You Can't Take It With You, James Earl Jones is a national treasure," said Executive Director Gabriel Shanks in a statement. "The Drama League is honored to celebrate his extraordinary life and career with him."
