Daniel Radcliffe to Star in Douglas McGrath Film Brooklyn Bridge After Returning to Broadway This Spring
The ''Harry Potter'' star will reprise his performance in Martin McDonagh's ''The Cripple of Inishmaan'' in April.
Stage and screen star Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter film series) is set to star in a new movie by Broadway's Douglas McGrath (Emma, Bullets Over Broadway). Brooklyn Bridge, to be written and directed by McGrath, will tell the story of American civil engineer Washington Roebling (Radcliffe), a young man left to oversee the construction of the famous bridge after his father's death.
The new film is set to shoot in August, only a few months after Radcliffe returns to Broadway in Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Inishmaan. The dark comedy, in which a young man dreams of Hollywood, will play the Cort Theatre beginning April 12, with an opening night set for April 20.
Radcliffe is best known for his screen role as Harry Potter. His past appearances onstage include Equus and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. On film, the actor can currently be seen starring in Kill Your Darlings, and he will soon play opposite Zoe Kazan in the romantic comedy The F Word.
