Stage and screen actor Michael Pemberton will star in the premiere of David Meyers' new drama Broken, running April 9-26 at Shetler Studios. The production is to be directed by Daisy Walker.

In Broken, Kevin McFadden hasn't spoken to anyone since he killed 17 people at a shopping mall three weeks ago. But when a prison doctor takes an unexpected interest in his case, Kevin decides to meet with him, revealing a troubled past that unites them both.

Pemberton, who will be seen in the upcoming season of HBO's Veep, will play the doctor, opposite playwright Meyers as the shooter. Alex Ashrafi will also appear in the cast.

The creative team includes Kevin Judge (scenic design), Patricia Nichols (lighting design), and Dina Epshteyn (assistant director).

Meyers’ plays have been read and performed off-Broadway by the Abingdon Theatre Company, Platform Group, Project Y, Naked Angels, and at the Lark Play Development Center. He also worked in communications at the White House and also as a speechwriter in the U.S. Senate.
