The Accidental Wolf, a new web series from Arian Moayed and Waterwell Films, has premiered online, releasing five episodes.
The drama is described as "one woman's destructive obsession to uncover the truth behind an unexplained extermination of a remote African village." O'Hara takes on the leading role in the work, which Moayed wrote and directed. Also starring are Tony nominee Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!) and Mike Doyle (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Tony winner Bill Sherman (In the Heights) provides the music.
Founded in 2002 by Arian Moayed and Tom Ridgely, Waterwell is an ensemble of theater artists dedicated to the creation of new work and the reinterpretation of classics. Its film division is billed as an "art-house studio that develops and produces a wide variety of original content for film, television and the Web."
Moayed and O'Hara costarred as Edgar and Regan in the Public Theater's 2011 revival of Shakespeare's King Lear. Moayed is a Tony nominee for his performance in Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo. O'Hara received a Tony for her performance in The King and I, and has also been seen on Broadway in South Pacific, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and The Light in the Piazza, among other shows.
