Lincoln Center Theater will a host a symposium titled "Nothing But the Truth: A Conversation About Truth, Reconciliation and Justice and What The World Can Learn from South Africa" on Monday, January 12 at 7pm in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 66th Street).

The event is inspired by John Kani's new play Nothing But the Truth, which is playing at the Newhouse through January 18. The play deals with strained family relations in post-apartheid South Africa.

Participating in the symposium will be Kani, the noted scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and the Nobel Prize-winning writer Wole Soyinka. They will discuss several topics, from contemporary African playwriting and its impact on African politics to the effect of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Comission in demonstrating to other nations how to reconcile past social grievances.

Tickets for the symposium are $10 and are available for purchase (cash only) at the Lincoln Center Theater box office, located in the Vivian Beaumont Theater adjacent to the Newhouse. All seating is general admission.
