Nothing But the Truth

Lincoln Center Theater presents Nothing But the Truth, a new play by award-winning South African actor-playwright John Kani, directed by Janice Honeyman.

Nothing But the Truth is an exploration of the strained and complex dynamic between the Black South Africans who remained in their homeland and risked their lives to lead the struggle against Apartheid and those who
returned victoriously to their country after living in exile. It was hailed by
the South African press as one of the most significant theatrical works of
the country’s post-apartheid era when it premiered last year at
Johannesburg’s Market Theatre. The play tells the story of an assistant
Librarian who is forced to reveal truths from his past when his brother
dies in political exile in London.
