American Globe Theatre Benefit to Feature Tom Fontana and OZ Cast Members
Tom Fontana, executive producer and creator of HBO's critically acclaimed series OZ, will perform in The Day Jack London Got Pinched -- his own adaptation of London's The Road -- to benefit the American Globe Theatre.
Fontana will be joined by OZ cast members Lee Tergesen, Kirk Acevedo, muMs, and others for five performances of the piece, to be given from Thursday, December 5 through Sunday, December 8 at the American Globe Theatre, located at 145 West 46th Street (between Sixth and Seventh avenues). Linda Laundra is directing the show.
Established in 1989, American Globe Theatre (AGT) is dedicated to presenting innovative productions of classical and original plays, and to arts education. It aims to reinvigorate contemporary American theater performance through a historically based and imaginative method for language and staging called the Rough and Ready Technique, which originated among Shakespeare's own company of players. John Basil is the AGT's artistic director.
