UPDATE—August 16, 2013, 12:35pm Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark publicists have released the following statement on behalf of production spokesman Rick Miramontez: “Following last night’s accident at Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, Daniel Curry remains in the hospital in stable condition having sustained an injury to his foot. Tonight’s performance will go on as scheduled. The technical elements of the show are all in good working order, and we can confirm that equipment malfunction was not a factor in the incident. Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family.”
August 15, 2013: An actor was injured during the August 15 evening performance of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark at Broadway’s Foxwoods Theatre, according to various reports.
Early accounts state that first responders arrived at the theater around 9pm, after the actor’s limb had somehow been pinned under a piece of equipment. The actor was reportedly rushed to Bellevue hospital and is in serious condition.
More information will likely be released Friday.
