Two River to Present World Premiere of Wendy Wasserstein's Pamela's First Musical
The musical is written by Wasserstein, Christopher Durang, Cy Coleman, and David Zippel.
Two River Theater's 2018-19 season has been announced.
The season kicks off with the world premiere of Wendy Wasserstein and Christopher Durang's Pamela's First Musical, with a score by Cy Coleman and lyrics by David Zippel. Graciela Daniele directs and choreographs the musical, which runs September 8-October 7.
Next up is August Wilson's King Hedley II, directed by frequent Wilson interpreter Brandon J. Dirden. Dirden's production runs November 10-December 16, and marks the halfway point of Two River presenting all 10 plays in Wilson's American Century Cycle.
Sarna Lapine will direct the Michael Frayn farce Noises Off January 12-February 3. Martin Moran's Theo, directed by Carolyn Cantor, will have its world premiere February 23-March 24. These are followed by Maureen Silliman in William Luce's The Belle of Amherst, directed by Robert Rechnitz (April 13-May 5), and Regina Taylor's Oo-Bla-Dee, with music by Diedre L. Murray and direction by Ruben Santiago-Hudson (June 8-30).
For children, Two River will present Christopher Parks's Journey to Oz: A Wizard of Oz Story, with music composition and sound design by Josh Totora (November 23-25); as well as A Little Shakespeare (January 25-February 2).
