McCarter Theatre Center has announced casting for David Thompson's adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, to run December 5-26 in the Matthews Theatre. Michael Unger will direct the production.

Based on Charles Dickens' 1843 novella, A Christmas Carol is the tale of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who is opposed to holiday cheer and indifferent to the sufferings of the poor in Victorian London. Scrooge is visited by four ghosts who offer him the opportunity to sympathize with his fellow man.

The company will feature Graeme Malcolm (Ebenezer Scrooge), Justin Blanchard (Jacob Marley), Cherise Boothe (Christmas Present), Bill Buell (Mr. Fezziwig), Janet Metz (Mrs. Cratchit), Michele Tauber (Mrs. Fezziwig), James Ludwig (Fred), Piper Goodeve (Fan), Rachel Baker (Charlotte Fezziwig), Jonathan Crombie (Bob Cratchit), Chris Dunlop (Young Scrooge), Pippa Pearthree (Mrs. Dilber) and Stephanie Umoh (Lily/Belle), along with Neville Braithwaite, Mary Leigh Christine, Kara Dombrowski, Justin Flexen, Timothy Grady, Brody Hessin, K.C. Leiber, Mike Miller, Emma Ritchie and Nicholas Yenson.

The children's ensemble will include Cara Barkenbush, Mariel Edokwe, Kate Fahey, Annika Goldman, Danny Hallowell, Noah Hinsdale, Ileena Irin Irving, Matthew Kuenne, Adam LeCompte, Camryn McAuliffe, Elsa Rodriguez, Tom Rodriguez, Hope Springer, and Jake Urban.
