Stage veteran Christopher Meloni will depart Law & Order: SVU, according to published reports. The actor, who has been with the show since its launch in 1999, played the role of Detective Elliot Stabler.
Meloni has starred as Eddie Carbone in the Gate Theatre’s 2005 production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge and Bill Starbuck in the 1998 Williamstown Theatre Festival production of The Rainmaker , among other stage roles.
