Richard Israel to Direct Third Street Theatre’s Falsettos

Third Street Theatre will present Falsettos by James Lapine and William Finn, September 9-October 16.. Richard Israel will direct the production.

The Tony Award-winning musical focuses on Marvin, who eventually leaves his wife and child for his male lover, Whizzer, who contracts AIDS. It ran on Broadway for 486 performances.

The cast will feature Jesse Einstein as Marvin, Richard Hellstern as Whizzer, Lani Shipman as Trina, Chip Phillips as Mendel, Major Curda as Jason, Kim Reed as Charlotte, and Wendy Rosoff as Dr. Cordelia.

The creative team will include set designer Kurt Boetcher, lighting designer Lisa Katz, and costume designer Jessica Olson.
