Christine Ebersole and Kelsey Grammer to Head Candide for LA Opera

The pair will take the stage at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Two-time Tony winner Christine Ebersole will star in the LA Opera production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, running January 27-February 18 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at the Music Center. The production is directed by Francesca Zambello and conducted by musical director James Conlon.

Ebersole will play the Old Lady, joining a cast that includes Kelsey Grammer as Voltaire and Dr. Pangloss, Jack Swanson as Candide, and Erin Morley as Cunegonde, Theo Hoffman as Maximilian and Reverend Father, Matthew Scollin as James and Martin, Brian Michael Moore as Grand Inquisitor and Governor, and Taylor Raven as Baroness and Vanderdendur.

On the creative team are James Noone (scenery), Jennifer Moeller (costumes), Mark McCullough (lighting), Eric San Fogel (choreography), Grant Gershon (chorus director), and E. Loren Meeker (associate director).
