Harry Hepple, Frances Ruffelle, et al. Set for Menier Chocolate Factory’s Pippin

Menier Chocolate Factory has announced casting for Pippin, to run November 22 – February 25. As previously announced, Mitch Sebastian will direct and choreograph the production.


The show, by Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson, centers on how Pippin, heir to Charlamagne’s throne, goes on a journey to find true happiness in his life, and in the process, comes to grips with lust, sex, war, politics, and religion.

The company will feature Harry Hepple (Pippin), Ian Kelsey (Charlemagne), Matt Rawle (Leading Player), and Frances Ruffelle (Fastrada), Carly Bawden (Catherine), Stuart Neal (Theo), and David Page (Lewis), along with Ben Bunce, Bob Harms, Holly James, Anabel Kutay, David McMullan, and Kate Tydman.

The creative team will include Timothy Bird (scenic and projection design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Jean-Marc Puissant (costume design), Simon Lee (orchestrations and music supervision), and Gareth Owen (sound design).
