Danny Boyle to Direct Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Eddie Redmayne, et al. in Old Vic’s The Children’s Monologues

Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, and Eddie Redmayne will be among the stars participating in The Children’s Monologues, a benefit for Dramatic Need, to be performed at the Old Vic on Sunday, November 14, according to Whatsonstage.com. Oscar winner Danny Boyle will direct the performance.

The work gives voice to 12 real children, who struggle with rape, violence and poverty in rural South Africa. Writers for the evening include Lynn Nottage, Roy Williams, Bola Agbaje, Polly Stenham, Dennis Kelly, Anya Reiss, Joel Horwood, Gabriel Bisset-Smith, Jamie Minoprio and Oladipo Agboluaje.

The cast will also include Benedict Cumberbatch, Nonso Anozie, Jenny Jules, Olivia Grant, Tom Hiddleston, Kerry Fox, Hattie Morahan, Charlie Cox, Wunmi Mosaku, Lucian Msamati, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Romola Garai and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
