Works by David Cale, Michael Friedman, Steven Cosson, et al. Set for Kansas City Rep's 2011-2012 Season
The company will begin the year with Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County (September 16 - October 9). Eric Rosen will direct this look at a family thrown into crisis after the disappearance of its patriarch. Rosen will also direct The Whipping Man (March 16 - April 8), Matthew Lopez's look at the surprising reunion between two former slaves and the son of the man who used to own them.
The Rep will also produce David Cale's The History of Kisses (October 21 - November 27), about a writer who's holed himself up trying to complete a new series of stories; as well as Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (November 18 - December 26), to be directed by Kyle Hatley; Laura Eason's adaptation of Mark Twain's classic The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (January 20 - February 12), to be directed by Jeremy B. Cohen; and Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's B-movie inspired musical Little Shop of Horrors (April 20 - May 20), also directed by Hatley.
