Campbell, Morgan, Reichard, Wetherhead et al. Cast in Goodspeed’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas

Full casting has been announced for Goodspeed Musicals’ world premiere production of Jim Henson’s classic holiday favorite Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, adapted for the stage. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Gatelli, the show will run December 7-January 4, 2009, at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut.

Featuring a book by Gattelli and Tim McDonald (based on the book by Russell and Lillian Hoban), and a score by Paul Williams, the story revolves around the impoverished Emmet Otter and his Ma who both secretly enter a Christmas Eve talent contest hoping to win the prize money. This production is produced in association with The Jim Henson Company.

The cast is led by Daniel Reichard as Emmet Otter, Cass Morgan as Ma Otter, Alan Campbell as Pa Otter, and Kate Wetherhead as Jane. The ensemble will include Stephen Bienskie (Stan Weasel), Justin Bohon (Harvey), Tyler Bunch (Puppeteer / Puppet Captain), Kevin Covert (Mayor Fox), Leo Daignault (Chuck), Madeline Doherty (Mrs. Mink), Colin Hanlon (Fred Lizard), Jeff Hiller (Charlie), Lisa Howard (Mrs. Fox), Anney McKilligan (Puppeteer), Sheri Sanders (Heddy), Robb Sapp (Wendell), James Silson (Puppeteer), David Stephens (Puppeteer), and swings Matthew Furtado and Kristin Feeney.

The creative team will include Anna Louizos (set), Gregg Barnes (costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lighting), Michael O’Flaherty (musical supervision), Larry Pressgrove (music director), Dan DeLange (orchestrations).
