Steppenwolf Theatre Announces Full Casting for 4 Upcoming Productions

Shows include ”Familiar” and ”A Doll’s House, Part 2”.

Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre has announced full casting for several shows as part of its 2018-19 season.

The world premiere of Downstate by ensemble member Bruce Norris, directed by Pam MacKinnon, will run September 20-November 4. As previously announced, the production will feature ensemble members K. Todd Freeman, Francis Guinan, and Tim Hopper, with newly announced Glenn Davis, Cecilia Noble, Eddie Torres, Aimee Lou Wood, Matilda Ziegler, Elyakeem Avraham, Maura Kidwell, and Nate Wheldon rounding out the cast.

The Chicago premiere of Familiar by Danai Gurira, featuring ensemble members Celeste M. Cooper and Ora Jones, will be directed by Danya Taymor. Completing the cast are Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Erik Hellman, Lanise Antoine Shelley, Luigi Sottile, Jacqueline Williams, and Cedric Young. It runs November 15-January 6.

The world premiere of Isaac Gomez's La Ruta, directed by ensemble member Sandra Marquezm, will feature Charin Alvarez, Cher Alvarez, Laura Crotte, Sandra Delgado, Mari Maroquin, Karen Rodriguez, Alice da Cunha, and Isabella Gerasole. It runs December 13-January 27.

The Chicago premiere of Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2, featuring ensemble members Celeste M. Cooper, Sandra Marquez, and Yasen Peyankov, as well as Barbara Robertson, will be directed by Robin Witt. It runs January 31-March 17.
