Hamilton Parody Spamilton to See Chicago Production
Hamilton is also currently running in Chicago.
The off-Broadway Hamilton parody Spamilton will make its Chicago debut Friday, March 3, at the Royal George Theatre's Cabaret/Studio Theatre. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 9, and the run will conclude on May 29.
This new production run coincides with the ongoing Chicago run of Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2016 Tony Award-winning musical, which plays the PrivateBank Theatre.
Forbidden Broadway creator Gerard Alessandrini penned the musical roast, produced by John Freedson, Christine Pedi, and David Zippel. The off-Broadway Spamilton cast features Nicholas Edwards, Chris Anthony Giles, Larry Owens, Dan Rosales, and Nora Schell, with music director Fred Barton at the piano.
In addition to Alessandrini, the creative team of Spamilton includes Gerry McIntyre (choreography), Dustin Cross (costume design), Richard Danley and Fred Barton (musical arrangements), and Michael Cassara (casting director).
The show is in discussions for additional productions in Los Angeles, London, and a U.S. national tour in 2017.
