The Royal George, together with Steppenwolf Theatre across the street, forms a mini-theater district. The 450-seat proscenium mainstage is charming and elegant, with terrific sightlines from any of its main-floor continental-style (no center aisle) seats or 143 balcony seats.

The Cabaret Theatre space has been warmed up for nearly four years by the enormously popular musical comedy FOREVER PLAID. Cocktail tables are arranged in a row right in front of the stage, with 190 regular theater seats forming a semi-circle behind them. The 100-seat Gallery is a flexible space where many of Chicago's smaller companies have staged works to good advantage, while the newest space, the 60-seat Great Room, feels a little like a saloon, or even a renovated dining room. Snacks, drinks and liquor are available during the show for each of the theaters.
