Dirty Dancing Extends Run Through January 17

The Broadway in Chicago production of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, currently playing at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, is set to extend it’s run until January 17, 2009 with James Powell at the helm.

Penned by Eleanor Bergstein, the film’s screenwriter, with choreography by Kate Champion, Dirty Dancing tells the story of Frances “Baby” Houseman, a doctor’s daughter, who falls for Johnny Castle, a talented, headstrong dancer from the wrong side of the tracks. As previously announced, the cast stars Josef Brown, Amanda Leigh Cobb, Britta Lazenga, as well as Ben Mingay, John Bolger, Kaitlin Hopkins, Katlyn Carlson, Molly C. Callinan, Joseph Costa, Jonathan Epstein, Ryan Farrell, Michael Howell, Lauren Klein, Michael Lluberes, Gary Lynch, and Michael Zahler.

The ensemble includes John Antony, Timothy Bish, Thea Brooks, Karen Burthwright, Theresa Coombe, E. Clayton Cornelious, Jean Michel Erole, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Hayley Henderson-Smith, Darina Jeleva, Travis Kelley, Charlie Logan, Lauralyn McClelland, Erich McMillan-McCall, Samuel Pergande, Andrew Pirozzi, Sarah Skogland, W. Easton Smith, Billy Harrigan Tighe, Aspen Vincent, Tony Vincent, Emily J. Williams, and Candice Woods.

The creative team also includes Bobby Aitken (sound design), Jon Driscoll (video and projection design), Jennifer Irwin (costume design), Stephen Brimson Lewis (set design), and Tim Mitchell (lighting design).
