Ethan Hawke, Paul Dano, and More Meet the Press Ahead of True West Opening

The stars of Sam Shepard's True West met the press on December 5. Directed by James Macdonald, the Roundabout Theatre Company production will play a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre starting December 27, with opening night set for January 24.

Ethan Hawke, Paul Dano, Marylouise Burke, and Gary Wilmes star in the production. Mimi Lien is the set designer, Kaye Voyce is the costume designer, and Jane Cox is the lighting designer.

Roundabout describes True West as follows: "Opposites attack in Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about two brothers with more in common than they think. Holed up in their mother's California house, screenwriter Austin (Dano) and lowlife Lee (Hawke) wrestle with big issues — and each other. Order vs. chaos. Art vs. commerce. Typewriter vs. toaster…Shepard's rip-roaring classic returns to Broadway, gleefully detonating our misguided myths of family, identity, and the American Dream."
