Three-time Tony nominee Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins) will join the cast of Broadway's Fun Home for a limited engagement in the role of Helen Bechdel. Luker will take on the role at the Circle in the Square Theatre from April 5-May 22, replacing Judy Kuhn, who is taking a leave of absence to have hip surgery. Kuhn will return to the show on May 24.

Inspired by Alison Bechdel's graphic novel-memoir of the same title, Fun Home follows the real-life Bechdel's journey to accept the death of her stern, closeted father, Bruce, while coming to terms with her own sexuality. The production won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Musical, along with Tonys for Best Score (Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron), Best Book (Kron), Best Actor in a Musical (Michael Cerveris), and Best Director of a Musical (Sam Gold).

Luker will join a company that includes Cerveris, Beth Malone, Gabriella Pizzolo, Roberta Colindrez, Zell Steele Morrow, Joel Perez and Oscar Williams, along with Alessandra Baldacchino, Kally Duling, Presley Ryan, Perry Sherman, Jim Stanek, and Nicole Van Giesen. Emily Skeggs, who originated the role of Medium Alison on Broadway, is currently on leave from the production due to television work, and will also return on May 24. Production understudy Lauren Patten is playing the character in the interim.

Luker, Kuhn, and Cerveris starred together in the Kennedy Center's 2002 production of Stephen Sondheim's Passion.
