Montego Glover to Join Broadway's Les Misérables
Glover will join acclaimed tenor Alfie Boe as part of the production's newest cast.
Tony nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Montego Glover, most recently seen on Broadway in the now-closed It Shoulda Been You, will join the cast of Les Misérables at the Imperial Theatre beginning September 1. Glover assumes the part of Fantine, succeeding Erika Henningsen in the role.
Also on September 1, Alex Finke will make her Broadway debut in the role of Cosette, succeeding Samantha Hill. As previously announced, the internationally renowned tenor Alfie Boe joins the production that day in the role of Jean Valjean, as well. Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo, Hill, and Henningsen will give their final performances on August 30.
Les Misérables opened at the Imperial Theatre on March 23, 2014. Featuring songs by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Herbert Kretzmer, the musical is based on Victor Hugo's classic novel as well as original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, an original adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, and additional material by James Fenton.
The cast of Les Misérables also features acclaimed British actor Earl Carpenter as Javert, Tony Award nominee Gavin Lee as Thenardier, Rachel Izen as Madame Thenardier, Brennyn Lark as Eponine, Chris McCarrell as Marius, and Wallace Smith as Enjolras.
