Brava Diva! Renée Fleming Makes Her Grand Broadway Debut in Living on Love

Acclaimed soprano Renée Fleming made her Broadway debut on April 20 at the Longacre Theatre in Joe DiPietro's Living on Love. The production began performances April 1 after a 2014 run at Williamstown Theatre Festival. Kathleen Marshall directs.

The new comedy, inspired by Garson Kanin's play Peccadillo, tells the story of the celebrated diva Raquel De Angelis (Fleming), who hires a handsome young scribe (Jerry O'Connell) to chronicle her life when her maestro husband, Vito (Douglas Sills), becomes enamored with the young woman (Anna Chlumsky) hired to ghostwrite his mostly fictional autobiography. The company also includes Blake Hammond, Scott Robertson, and Trixie the Pomeranian.

Following the performance, the cast and their guests — including Happy Days favorite Marion Ross, television legends Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas, and more — headed to Sardi's to celebrate. Check out TheaterMania's photos in the gallery below.
