Mraz is the show’s new Dr. Pomatter.
Broadway's Waitress will welcome Grammy winner Jason Mraz to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre beginning Friday, November 3. Mraz will take on the role of Dr. Pomatter for a 10-week run.
Mraz is a two-time Grammy winner who is no stranger to Waitress and the music of Sara Bareilles. He appeared on Bareilles's album What's Inside: Songs From Waitress, duetting with the vocalist on the tunes "Bad Idea" and "You Matter to Me."
Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's 2007 motion picture, Waitress features music and lyrics by Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, and direction by Diane Paulus. The production opened April 24, 2016, and earned four Tony nominations.
Waitress currently stars Betsy Wolfe as Jenna, with Drama Desk nominee Eric Anderson (Cal), Maia Nkenge Wilson (Becky), Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Ogie), Drew Gehling (Dr. Pomatter), Caitlin Houlahan (Dawn), Larry Marshall (Joe), Will Swenson (Earl), Victoria Collett, Dayna Jarae Dantzler, Kayla Davion, Tyrone Davis Jr., Matt DeAngelis, Law Terrell Dunford, Katie Grober, Molly Hager, Molly Jobe, Brandon Kalm, Max Kumangai, Anastacia McCleskey, and Stephanie Torns.
