Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's Tony-winning musical Fun Home ended its run at the Circle in the Square Theatre on September 10, 2016. The production, directed by Sam Gold, began performances March 27, 2015, and opened April 19, 2015, after a successful 2013-2014 run at the Public Theater. It played 26 preview and 582 regular performances on Broadway.

Inspired by Alison Bechdel's graphic novel-memoir of the same title, Fun Home follows the real-life Bechdel's journey to accept the death of her stern, closeted father, Bruce, while coming to terms with her own sexuality. The musical was named a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Michael Cerveris, Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone, Gabriella Pizzolo, Emily Skeggs, Joel Perez, Roberta Colindrez, and Zell Steele Morrow were among the closing-night company. The creative team of Fun Home includes Danny Mefford (choreography), David Zinn (set and costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), and Chris Fenwick (music direction).

Fun Home is the winner of five 2015 Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (Kron), Best Original Score (Kron and Tesori), Best Direction of a Musical (Gold), and Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Cerveris).

The North American tour of Fun Home will launch in Cleveland in October 2016, and play more than 40 cities in its first year, including Chicago, St. Louis, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more to be announced.
