Kate Shindle and Robert Petkoff to Lead Fun Home National Tour

Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron’s Tony-winning musical is heading on the road.

Principal casting is set for the upcoming first national tour of Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori's Tony-winning musical Fun Home. The touring production be directed by Sam Gold, who restages his in-the-round Broadway production for auditoriums with traditional proscenium stages.

Robert Petkoff (All the Way) will head the production as Bruce Bechdel, alongside Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde) as Alison and Susan Moniz (Grease) as Helen Bechdel. They will be joined by Abby Corrigan as Medium Alison, Alessandra Baldacchino as Small Alison, Karen Eilbacher as Joan, Robert Hager as Roy, Lennon Nate Hammond as John, Pierson Salavdor as Christian, Antony Fortino, Sofia Trimarchi, Michael Winther, and Carly Gold, who will play the role of Small Alison at certain performances.

The tour will kick off from October 25-30 at North Carolina's Durham Performing Arts Center. Additional stops include Chicago's Oriental Theatre (November 2-13), The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas (January 3-8, 2017), the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver (January 10-22, 2017), the Curran Theatre in San Francisco (January 25-February 19, 2017), the Bushnell in Hartford (June 20-25, 2017), and many other stops.

Inspired by Alison Bechdel's graphic novel-memoir of the same title, Fun Home follows the real-life Bechdel's journey to accept the death of her stern, closeted father, Bruce, while coming to terms with her own sexuality. The production won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Musical, along with Tonys for Best Score (Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron), Best Book (Kron), Best Actor in a Musical (Michael Cerveris), and Best Director of a Musical (Sam Gold).
