In 1990, the pop singer Gloria Estefan was critically injured in a frightening accident when a speeding semitruck crashed into her tour bus. Estefan suffered a fractured spine, requiring two titanium rods to be implanted into her back. Her yearlong recovery period is the climax of On Your Feet!, the conga-filled bio-musical of her life, career, and relationship with music producer Emilio Estefan, which opened last night at the Marquis Theatre.
