Broadway Shockers 2017: Ben Platt Conjures Beyoncé and Words Fail
As 2017 draws to a close, TheaterMania looks back on some of the most jaw-dropping stories of the year.
Ben Platt is a Tony-winning Broadway star. But he's also a magician who can make Beyoncé appear out of thin air.
In August, Platt tweeted his belief that if he warms up to Beyoncé's music with enough frequency, that he'll "conjure her" to appear in the audience of Dear Evan Hansen.

Just over a month later, he proved how skilled an illusionist he really is: Beyoncé went to see Dear Evan Hansen on September 14, met Platt and the cast, and everyone went nuts. And to top it all off, before Platt's final performance, she sent him flowers.
