Briga Heelan, Justin Guarini, and Aisha Jackson to Star in Britney Spears Musical on Broadway

Briga Heelan, Justin Guarini, and Aisha Jackson are coming to Broadway with the Britney Spears musical Once Upon a One More Time, which is set to begin preview performances at the Marquis Theatre on May 13 ahead of an official opening night on June 22nd.

The three actors will reprise their roles from the 2021 run at Shakespeare Theatre Company: Heelan (Ground Floor) plays Cinderella, Guarini (Wicked) plays Prince Charming, and Jackson (Paradise Square) plays Snow White. Additional casting has not yet been revealed.

With an original book by Jon Hartmere (bare), Once Upon a One More Time promises to "flip the script on your favorite fairytale icons." According to an official description, "Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid and other classic storybook characters gather for their fortnightly book club, when — oh baby, baby! — a rogue fairy godmother grants their wish for a new story, by dropping The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps. The arrival of this new tome spurs a royal revelation: There is more to life than bird-made dresses and true love's kiss!"

The musical will feature a score of songs made popular by Britney Spears including "Oops I Did It Again," "Lucky," "Circus," and "Toxic." Assuming that Moulin Rouge and & Juliet are still running in May, it will be the third musical currently playing on Broadway to feature the songs of Britney Spears.

The musical is directed and choreographed by Keone & Mari Madrid (Beyond Babel). The creative team includes scenic designer Anna Fleischle, costume designer Loren Elstein, Tony Award-winning lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Andrew Keister, projection designer Sven Ortel, and wig designer Nikiya Mathis. David Leveaux serves as creative consultant.
