Tony Award winner Rondi Reed will play Madame Morrible in the Broadway company of Wicked, performing at the Gershwin Theatre, beginning March 17.
Based on Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same name, Wicked features a score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
The production also includes Nicole Parker as Elphaba, Alli Mauzey as Glinda, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Kevin Kern as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond.
Reed, who won her Tony for August: Osage County, was the original Morrible in the Chicago production of Wicked. She also appeared on Broadway in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice and The Grapes of Wrath and Off-Broadway in Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
