The ”Simpsons”-inspired drama will come to Boston.
Boston's Lyric Stage Company has announced the cast for its production of Anne Washburn and Michael Friedman's Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play. Running April 8-May 7, the production is directed by A. Nora Long.
Set in the aftermath of a worldwide electric apocalypse, the play follows a handful of survivors who maintain their sanity by recalling and reenacting a 1993 episode of The Simpsons called "Cape Feare." Mr. Burns is a paean to live theater, storytelling, and the resilience of Bart Simpson through the ages.
Jordan Clark, Aimee Doherty, Brandon G. Green, Gillian Mackay-Smith, Joseph Marrella, Lindsey McWhorter, and Nael Nacer make up the company. The creative team includes Yo-El Cassell (choreography), Allyssa Jones (musical director), Shelley Barish (scenic design), Amanda Mujica (costume design), Wen-Ling Liao (lighting design), Samuel Hanson (sound design), and Lauren Duffy (mask design and construction).
