The Lyric Stage Company of Boston has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, directed by Summer L. Williams. Performances will run from February 13-March 14, with an official February 15 opening.

Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther, an independent but lonely African-American seamstress in early 20th-century Manhattan who earns a living sewing exquisite lingerie for wealthy socialites uptown, and women of ill repute downtown. When Esther receives a letter from a stranger who is laboring on the Panama Canal, she begins an epistolary courtship with him, only to discover that he is not all that he seems.

The play had its world premiere at Center Stage in February 2003 and made its New York debut off-Broadway with the Roundabout Theatre Company in March 2004, with Viola Davis starring.

The Lyric Stage cast features Lindsey McWhorter as Esther, Cheryl D. Singleton as Mrs. Dickson, Nael Nacer as Mr. Marks, Kris Sidberry as Mayme, Amanda Ruggiero as Mrs. Van Buren, and Brandon G. Green as George.

The creative team includes Anne Sherer (set design), Amanda Mujica (costume design), Chris Judacs (lighting design), Kelsey Jarboe (sound design), Stephanie LeBolt (assistant director), and Bryn Austin (dialect coach).
