Brooks Ashmanskas, Christopher Bloch, Robert Cuccioli Set for Ford’s Theatre’s 1776

Ford’s Theatre Society has announced casting for its production of the musical, 1776, to perform at Ford’s Theatre, March 9-May 19. Peter Flynn will direct.

The show dramatizes the impassioned debates of Philadelphia’s Second Continental Congress and the writing of the Declaration of Independence.

The production will feature Brooks Ashmanskas as John Adams, Christopher Bloch as Benjamin Franklin, Robert Cuccioli as John Dickinson, William Diggle as Thomas Jefferson and Floyd King as Stephen Hopkins.

The cast will also include Patrick A’Hearn, Matthew A. Anderson, Peter Boyer, Michael Bunce, Steven Carpenter, Drew Eshelman, Kate Fisher, Rick Hammerly, Matthew John Kacergis, James Konicek, Erin Kruse, Sam Ludwig, Gregory Maheu, Dan Manning, Buzz Mauro, Richard Pelzman, Stephen F. Schmidt, Thomas Adrian Simpson, Chris Sizemore, Bobby Smith and Tom Story with Carolyn Agan and Evan Hoffmann.

The creative team will include Michael Bobbit (choreography), Jay Crowder (musical direction), Tony Cisek (set), Wade Laboissonniere (costumes), Nancy Schertler (lighting), and Kim Scharnberg (orchestrations).
