The Arlington-based Signature Theatre’s “Signature in the Schools” program will present two free public performances of the world premiere of Un-American, February 6 and 10. Student matinee performances will take place February 3-9 at 10:00 am. Signature’s Education Associate David Zobell will direct.

Written by Joe Calarco, Un-American will feature students from Wakefield High School, Yorktown High School, and H.B. Woodlawn High School acting as factions from two rival high schools who are neck-and-neck in the final rounds of a local TV game show. As tension escalates between the teams and the game nears its end, answers come in a way that none of the students ever expected.

Jason Lott will join the cast as Tom Toppleman, a HUAC Committee member. Student performers will include Khaliun Amarburen, Sean Balick, Adrian Cardenas, Karl Green, Chloe Laird, Arami McCloskey, Cameron Mellin, Jose Rodriguez, Morgan Shotwell, Amanda Smith, Ariel Cadby Spicer, and Page Tazewell.

Students working together with professional artists and designers are Marwa Awadbahr, Madeline Buchanan, Jack Dobbins, Joseph Escobar-Artica, Maya Giacobbe, Emily Hambridge, Cassandra Kendall, Madeline McGill, Max Rosenberg, and John Urbano.

The professional design team will be comprised of Andrew Scharwath (lighting design), Leslie Cook (costume design), and Matt Rowe (sound design).
