The Folger Theatre’s first production of the season will be Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carrière’s adaptation of the 12th century Persian poem The Conference of the Birds (October 23-November 25), an imaginative tale of birds in search of the divine, directed by Aaron Posner with original music performed by Tom Teasley. The cast will feature Katie deBuys, Britt Duff, Jessica Francis Dukes, Jay Dunn, Robert Barry Fleming, Patty Gallagher, Tara Giordano, Mark Halpern, Celeste Jones, Jens Rasmussen, Annapurna Sriram, and Tiffany Rachelle Stewart.

The season will conclude in the new year with two Shakespeare plays. Finally, Richmond will direct Twelfth Night (April 30-June 9), an unforgettable journey of bittersweet love performed by a cast featuring Tonya Beckman, Louis Butelli, James Konicek, Joshua Morgan, and Craig Wallace.
