The Alliance Theatre will present the world premiere of Sondheim: A Musical Revue, as part of the company's 40th anniversary season. The production will be written and directed by James Lapine, and run April 15-May 10.

The revue will incorporate original and archival commentary from Sondheim, whose many credits include such works as West Side Story, Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods. Sondheim's latest work, Road Show, will receive its New York premiere at the Public Theater beginning October 28, and Masterworks Broadway will release Stephen Sondheim: The Story So Far, a 4-CD boxed set of Stephen Sondheim's works, on Tuesday, September 30.
