Cats: The Jellicle Ball, the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical now at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, will record a cast album. It is slated to be released this coming winter on Atlantic Records.
The radical revival from Tony-winning directors Bill Rauch and Zhailon Levingston reimagines Cats as a ballroom competition, with categories like “body” and “realness.”
TheaterMania’s review called it “the party of the Broadway season.”
Unfortunately, disappointing ticket sales led the producers to announce the end of the run this summer, after earlier announcing an extension into 2027. The final performance will be next Saturday, August 8.
“Tempress” Chasity Moore, who plays Grizabella, announced the cast recording from the stage of the Broadhurst during curtain call Saturday night. You can watch that here:
