The musical follows four couples over the course of one night falling in and out of love. The production will feature an international company of 32 dancers and a 17-piece on-stage Big Band. Songs in the piece will include "Let's Fall In Love," "Witchcraft," "Summer Wind," "Body & Soul," "It's All Right with Me," "Take Five," "That's Life," "Nice 'n' Easy," and "My Way."
Jazz artist Dee Daniels will be featured at the piano, and also provide occasional vocals. The creative team will include James Youmans (set), Donald Holder (lighting), Katherine Roth (costumes), and Sam Lutfiyya (music supervision).
As previously announced, Alliance's 2009-2010 mainstage season will also include David Mamet's two-hander A Life in the Theatre, starring Andre De Shields and directed by Robert O'Hara (October 28-November 15), A Christmas Carol (November 27-December 24), a production to be announced, and the national favorite Lookingglass Alice (March 3-May 2).
The Hertz Stage will host the world premiere revue The Second City: Peach Drop, Stop and Roll (November 6-December 13), Ismali Khalidi's new play Tennis in Nablus, set in 1939 Palestine (January 29-February 21), and Mike Daisey's newest monologue The Last Cargo Cult, about a religion created by Pacific Islanders (March 19-April 11).
